WE EXIST SINCE 1976.

Since 1976, the ch Foundation manages a special center for youth exchange that is active all over Switzerland.
 

WE ARE COMMISSIONED BY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AND THE CANTONS.

Since 1985, this special center has been active on behalf of the Swiss Conference of Cantonal Public Education Directors (CDIP), and since 1995 it has also been active on behalf of the federal government (OFES, OFTE and seco). This work is built on the recommendations for the national and international exchanges in the school network system.
A patronage committee vastly represented by various educational institutions, and the conference of school principals, and teacher associations etc, offer their support to the work of the center.

OUR GOALS :

In Switzerland, children and youths already begin to learn foreign languages in primary school. In this respect they come into contact - at least - indirectly with other cultures.

The ch Youth Exchange aims at completing their scholarity by offering to the adults and the youths the possibility to come into direct contact with people living in other linguistic regions of Switzerland and other countries. ch Youth exchange motivates the learning of other languages.

Contacts with other cultures and linguistic realities, a stay in different linguistic regions, reinforces the contact and tolerance with others. It raises the awareness of the surrounding environment and its identity.

This is why we encourage the most diverse exchanges of languages and cultures in the frame of activities related to education.
