What does it entail?

Students from different schools can correspond with youths of their own age in Switzerland or abroad.

They can do this :

• individually, by groups or by classes
• privately or during lessons
• with or without help from their teacher

• You would like to enter into contact with another school, but you dont have the time or the possibility to organize class meetings or class exchanges?
• Your students would like to know classmates individually who are of the same age, of other cultures and language regions?
• You would like to give to your students the possibility to apply in concrete terms their knowledge of their mother tongue or foreign language?

• Corresponding between individual students

The students are responsible for their exchange of correspondence, which could be for them totally private.
This correspondence can however be integrated into the teaching, in so far as that the majority of students apply to this method. Possible themes : Daily life in the other country/region (accommodation, food, family, friends etc.), youth cultures (music, the media, pastimes, etc.), knowledge of the country/of the region (geography, economy, environment, etc.), school life (school system, timetable, subjects, homework, school problems, etc.)
 
• Exchanges between partner classes

This type of correspondence is more complex because the whole class must participate. Firstly, all the students have to be motivated by the project. Whats more, certain students like writing more than others do.

From "snail mail" to E-mail

Corresponding stimulates creativity and should never be limited to only writing : the imagination knows no limits, because we can also communicate by video, by e-mail or by fax. There are other school network systems completely equipped with the new technologies of communication (e.g. Hotlinks).
And in the end, a correspondence exchange project can after all finish with a meeting between classes, especially when the students wish to meet personally with their correspondent.
