The first "European Heritage Classes" were launched by the European Council at the beginning of the 1980s.
Its objective was to bring into contact youths from different cultures, by allowing them to discover the cultural heritage of their region and also of their European partners. Since 1995 ch Youth Exchange is used as an intermediary to promote this program in Switzerland.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

All Swiss classes can be involved, without any age distinction.

WHAT ARE THEIR AIMS?

"European Heritage Classes" are based principally on teaching and learning skills, research and partnership. The principal objectives are summed up as such :

The idea of heritage is extremely vast and rich : archeology, history, urban development, architecture, fine art school, applied arts, music, literature, everyday ideas etc.
If the list seems limited to you, then you are free to suggest supplementary subjects .

WHERE DO WE FIND OUR PARTNER SCHOOLS ?

The inventory of partners is spread around the 47 countries, known by the European Council on cultural subjects.
