What does it entail?

Often, an exchange of correspondence between whole classes is used to prepare a meeting between these classes.
But even if the exchange between individuals is out of the question, it is possible to correspond. Maybe the distance is too large. Or it will cost too much. As far as possible, this type of correspondence is also the only solution that allows the participation of all the students.

Some practical advice to begin an epistolary partnership

The preliminary condition is that all the class or a group of students participate. The communal organization of an epistolary partnership presupposes that the teacher succeeds in making all the students enthusiastic or at least most of them, to have some sort of contact with the other youths.
Certain students like writing more than others do. If, the correspondence is done in a foreign language, the younger students will need help from the teacher.
It is advisable to make clear in advance to the teachers of the partner class, the frequency to which you intend to write.
It is possible to send from time to time to the partner classes a sole letter written by all the class. Although, perhaps the students prefer to have a personal correspondent, which means that numerous letters will be sent each time to the partner class.

From "snail mail" to E-mail

Corresponding stimulates creativity and should never be limited to only writing : the imagination knows no limits, because we can also communicate by video, by e-mail or by fax. There are other school network systems completely equipped with the new technologies of communication. Read our news page and have a look at the Hotlinks!
