There exists numerous interesting sites that show the usage of the new technologies of computers in schools. You will find many ideas, information and links by clicking on the following pages.

Please bear in mind that in general, the rule is that the most attractive and the most useful sites are in English. To come into contact with schools in other countries it is often unavoidable to refer to them in English. If they are able to use other languages they'll let you know when they'll answer your first e-mail.

    Kidlink is a program allowing children to have school correspondence with other children in many countries. The language mostly used is English, but we can also communicate in other languages.

    This is about an exchange program that was launched by an Australian establishment. At present 150 school establishments participate. The program is based on a principal character (a teddy bear) that the twin classes exchange. He is their spokesperson and talks to the correspondents about, from where the class comes from, and who the students are, what they learn at school, how they live in their countries, etc. These little stories are exchanged by e-mail with the partner class. The participating classes can be primary or secondary classes. English is the principal language of communicating, but we can also communicate in other languages.

    The "Global School Net Foundation" manages an information network relatively important to which we have access to other information networks and other sites. In this way we have the possibility to gain access on information about the usage of technologies and information on teaching and to establish contacts with teachers worldwide. If you are a teacher, then you can inscribe as a member. Later, you will regularly receive information about the currently running projects. Each inscription will be verified, it is very important to furnish all the required information on the inscription form.

    Activities extracurricular and general information on Switzerland :
    • http://www.landdienst.ch
    The "Landdienst" is a possibility for young girls and boys to work during their holidays, on farms in Switzerland and in Franche-Comté. To be able to inscribe, you will need to be at least 14 years of age and to be able to commit yourself for a period of a minimum of two weeks (in the summer) or one week (in the autumn and in the springtime).

    For the youths coming from Swiss Romand, there also exists the possibility to work in German speaking Switzerland, which is a way to put to the test your knowledge of the other language.

    Attention : The conditions to participate for the foreign youths who do not live in Switzerland are different. Our advice is that you inform yourself in more detail.

    • The National Swiss Center of Tourism Site, contains very useful information, for example for a school exchange (e.g. in case of research work on Switzerland, preparation for a journey, etc). This site also gives you access to addresses concerning Swiss tourism.
